The lucky couple really couldn't have chosen a better day or location for their wedding day. The beautiful Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa Hotel was the location chosen for the bridal prep and also the afternoon wedding breakfast and evening reception. This was the most northerly location I have shot at and my first visit to the north end of Lake Windermere. I traveled up to this amazing Lake district location the night before stay in the picturesque town of Windermere. This allowed me lots of time to have a look around the local area and have a look at the venue before the big day. I arrived early for the bridal prep which gave me a chance to chat with Emily and her bridesmaids and get to know everyone before the day properly got underway. I went about my usual business of photographing the bouquet, dress and shoes and the hair and makeup photographs. Once I had all the shots Emily wanted I headed over to the Holy Trinity Church at Brathay which was the couples choice for the wedding ceremony.
I arrived at the Church chosen by Ross as it had very sentimental value to him. This was the perfect chance to capture photographs of the venue and also to get some awesome natural shots of the guests arriving and chatting prior to the ceremony. I love to photograph the candid natural photos they always provide the best memories, real smiles real emotions nothing forced or posed (lets face it we all hate posing for the camera! me included!). After photographing the bridesmaids and brides arrival, I took up my usual position in church where I could capture the wedding ceremony candidly and allow Ross & Emily to enjoy their special day.
One of my favorite photographs of any wedding is the confetti tunnel, even though I usually end up wearing most of it! These make awesome natural photos that show the real emotions of the day. After photographing this (and removing lots of confetti from me - that stuff literally gets everywhere!) the wedding guests headed over to the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa hotel to await the arrival of the new bride and groom. Ross & Emily stayed behind to grab a few formal photographs and to take a break ! We then all headed over to the Lowwood bay Hotel for the wedding breakfast, speeches and the evening reception. Please feel free to have a look through a selection of my favorite photographs from this awesome Lake district wedding.
