Ruthin Castle or Castel Rhuthun to give it its Welsh name, is a medieval castle located near the town of Ruthin in North Wales. Built in the late 13th century it overlooks a beautiful picturesque Welsh valley. If you havn't yet visited the venue I would highly recommend it, especially if you are thinking of having a castle wedding this is definitely one not to miss!
Ruthin Castle Weddings - Helen and Pauls Special Day
Helen and Paul contacted me in early 2016 asking me to be their Ruthin Castle Weddings Photographer. This was a new venue for me and my first time doing wedding photography in North Wales. I arrived a few hours early to give myself time to look around the castle and find some great spots to take the wedding photographs later in the day. The weather was great with blue skies and sunshine, although the ground was still quite wet from a storm the day before, which meant I had to get creative with my shots. After I had a look around, I met with Paul a few hours before the ceremony to discuss his plans for the day and also to let him know my ideas for the day. Helen entered the Ruthin Castle ceremony room to the sound of a string quartet accompanied by her father. The rest of the day is best explained in photos, so please browse below to see a selection of photographs from the day.
